ABOUT US

Gwin Gâr is a family business established in 2005 run by myself and my wife Hélène. We are a bilingual wine delivery service specifically selling quality wine to private consumers. We have focused primarily on French wines to date but are slowly introducing wines from other areas of the world also. We are fortunate that we can call upon the expertise and knowledge of Hélène’s cousin Didier who was actively involved in the French wine trade for over twenty years and this has helped us to choose both our wine producers and their wine carefully. As a small business in a competitive market we are particular in deciding what ends up on our wine list.

Our customer base has grown since our inception and we believe that this is down to a number of things not least of all the quality of the wine we have to offer. Our prices are very competitive and we are able to do this as we do not operate from a shop premises with the overheads that would apply. We also deal directly with French vineyards thereby not involving any middle men and we order in large quantities which attracts a better price as well as obtaining an exclusivity for the majority of the wines. The fact that we import large consignments alone means that, as mentioned above, we have to follow a vigorous selection process on each occasion a new wine is chosen. We have built up good relationships with producers which continues to this day and can now trust their judgement when we receive news of their latest offerings.

Wine tasting events are also opportunities to sample the wines on our list and we have held several to date. A fun experience, enjoyed by all, they can be used as a social occasion or as a means of raising funds for a charity or cause.
