Terms and Conditions

ORDERS & DELIVERY - We generally deliver within a 30 mile radius of Carmarthen town centre only. We are looking at extending this service at a later date and welcome all enquiries. In the meantime, please e-mail or telephone us for further information.

At Gwin Gār there is a minimum order requirement of 6 bottles but no maximum order limits. However, large orders may be subject to different courier/delivery charges. We will advise you of this at the time you place your order.

We aim to deliver your order within 48 - 72 hours from receiving the order in the majority of cases. If this is not possible then we will contact you to notify you of the problem and timescale involved.

We either deliver orders ourselves or use a courier company (generally on a Monday to Friday basis only, excluding public holidays) and therefore orders placed over the weekend or public holidays may incur a time delay due to this problem.

Gwin Gār operates the following delivery charges for cases :

a) Within a 20 mile radius of Carmarthen town centre - FREE delivery for a 12 bottle case.

b) Within a 20 mile radius of Carmarthen town centre - £3.99 delivery charge for a 6 bottle case.

c) Outside 20 miles, but within a 30 mile radius - £4.99 for 1 case up to 6 cases or 100kg. Any orders over this limit will have to be charged at a different rate which we can quote to you when you place your order.

d) Outside the 30 mile radius - by prior arrangement only.

For non standard orders please contact us.

PAYMENT - Payment can be made by credit / bank card,  cash or cheque (supported by a valid banker's card) on delivery of your wine.

If you have arranged for us to leave your wine, should you be out when we deliver then we will require payment before delivery. We will agree this with you at the time your order is placed.

You may cancel your order at any time until 7 days after the goods are received, but you will be liable for the initial delivery cost and the amount payable in the return of the goods to us.

The goods must be unopened and intact (and with no signs of wear and tear). You can cancel your order by e-mailing or telephoning us (see home page for details)

All credits will be issued within 30 days of the cancellation, provided the goods have been returned within that period.

QUALITY - Upon receipt of your order, the order should be carefully inspected to ensure that it is intact and in full. We or our courier must be informed of breakages or shortages unless they are stated on our or the couriers documentation.

If you do not enjoy any bottle of wine sampled, for whatever reason, we will replace it up to and including 28 days from the date of delivery of your order. Where more than one bottle of the same wine is ordered, you are entitled to have all of the other bottles ordered replaced provided that no more than one bottle has been sampled - all of the other bottles must be unopened and intact (and with no signs of wear and tear).

Rarely, things may get damaged or lost during the delivery process. We will replace damaged goods, or goods lost in transit, or refund you the cost of items. We may ask for the goods to be returned to us, or photographs of damaged goods to ensure the claim is valid. We must have confirmation of these breakages or shortages within 36 hours of delivery.

Occasionally we do have to substitute wines for a later vintage or an alternative of equal or greater value. If you are unhappy with any substitutions you receive we will arrange collection at our cost.

AGE RESTRICTION - We will not sell to anyone who isn't 18 years old or over, as the law requires.

By placing an order you confirm that you are at least 18 years old. If the order is going to different addresses or as a gift the recipient also has to over the age of 18.

If we or our couriers are in any doubt about the age of the recipient on delivery, they will request some form of ID.

If the person receiving the order is unable to produce appropriate ID, unfortunately we and our couriers will be unable to leave your products.

STATUTORY RIGHTS - These "Terms and Conditions" do not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

DATA PROTECTION - We are fully committed to the Data Protection Act 1998, and are dedicated to the privacy of your information.

PRIVACY - We collect personal information from you when you make a purchase from us. The information is used to enable us to process and deliver your order and also to contact you about new wines and offers which may be of interest. You consent to Gwin Gār maintaining, recording, holding and using personal data we collect about you for these purposes.
